Movember Shave Off great success

January 21, 2013

A great start to a year’s fundraising €10,894.50 raised for the Irish Cancer Society.

For the next year I will be fundraising to raise vital funds for the Irish Cancer Society.

My first idea which was Movember I thought I would get about 5 or 6 men to take part.  In the end 32 men took part in the moustache growing to raise some valid money.

A Movember Shave off night was held on Saturday 1st December in Naomh Malachi GFC with a great attendance, music on the night was by John Flood and Special guest on the night was Louth and St.Patrick’s GFC footballer Ray Finnegan who took the Joe Ward with him.

There was great entertainment with “Man of the Moment” named as Richard Fee who received a cup presented by Ray.  Lots of shaving took place, even bidding on beards and chest took place.

I would like to thank all of the men who took part in the Movember and sold sponsorship cards.  To all who sponsored, donated and bought raffle tickets on the night to John Flood for his entertainment, to the Malachi’s for the use of their facility and sponsorship.  To our commentator Sean Moley and special guest Ray Finnegan, to Grainne and Mary McArdle for the lovely food supplied.  To everyone who sponsored gifts, prizes, food for the night and to our three shavers Gareth, Patricia and Bernice.

I would like to thank everyone for the support so far.  I have calendars on sale from the Movember shave off for the 2013 year.  If interested please contact me I have a facebook page set up called Tracey Rogers fundraising there you will be kept up to date with events occurring throughout the year and total amount being raised.
