Issue 1253 – Allianz Cumann na mBunscol South Armagh Malachy McGeeney Memorial Trophy

April 10, 2017

There was great excitement at Killeavy GAC last week as six schools from south Armagh battled it out for a semi-final place in the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Boys’ and Girls’ Malachy Mc Geeney Memorial Trophy. Cloghogue PS, St Peter’s Cloughreagh, St Malachy’s, Camlough, St Joseph’s, Bessbrook, St. Joseph & St. James’s, Poyntzpass and St. Patrick’s, Crossmaglen, played a series of thrilling games to see who would make it through to the all-county semi-finals.
The day ended with two pulsating and very competitive finals between Cloghogue PS and St. Patrick’s, Crossmaglen which saw Crossmaglen boys beating Cloghogue by one point and Cloghogue girls defeating Crossmaglen by single point. Congratulations to both teams who will now go forward to represent their schools in the semi-finals of the Malachy Mc Geeney Memorial trophy.
Cumann na mBunscol Ard Mhacha would like to thank Killeavy GAC for use of their facilities, to all the children who represented their schools and to everyone who helped out in making the day a great occasion for all involved.
