BOI Dr McKenna Cup

The Breffni men will then travel to Healy Park Omagh on Sunday Jan 5 at 2pm with the last match in Section C will see holders Tyrone travel to the Athletic Grounds on Wednesday Jan 8 for an 8 pm start against Armagh.

As there is no Universaties participation in this year the Cup because of its early start under the revised fixture schedual, three groups with 3 teams in each will be used. The 3 Group winners and the best runner-up will contest the semi-finals.

Armagh’s Allianz National Football League campaign commences on January 25 with a home game against Cavan , so the importance of a good run in the McKenna Cup will be very important in terms of league preparation. No better way to continue your preparations than with a home match against Tyrone in front of a packed house with a championship atmosphere eventhough it’s only early January. Tyrone beat Armagh in the 2019 final at the Athletic grounds 0-16 to 0-14 as Darren McCurry helped himself to 9 points as Rory Grugan and Niall Grimley bagged 5 points apiece for defeated Armagh.

The Semi-final line up to be played on Sunday Jan 12 will be as follows;

Section C Winners v Section B Winners

Section A Winners v Best Runner-up.
