Armagh set up Tyrone Semi

Armagh will take on Tyrone on Friday June 8 in the semi-final of the Ulster U-20 football championship after both teams recorded quarter-final wins over Fermanagh and Monaghan respectively.

Peter McDonnell’s Armagh looked impressive in Enniskillen where a Rian O’Neill goal separated the teams 1-5 to 0-5 at the short whistle. A second Armagh goal from Clann Eireann’s kept the visitors four points in front, with 7 minutes left on the clock, as the Orchard lads cut loose with an unanswered 7 point haul to earn a 2-14 to 0-10 victory Wind assisted Monaghan, with 2 goals inside 5 minutes saw a 7 point lead cut to 5 by the time the short whistle sounded. 2-4 to 0-5, After 51 minutes Tyrone took a lead that they would never relinquish as they fired over a dozen second half points to halt a successive Monaghan victory at Omagh as the hosts won 0-17 to 2-8.
