Crossmaglen girl tops the style stakes at Fairyhouse

A Crossmaglen girl stole the show at Fairyhouse Racecourse on Easter Monday, wowing the judges in a stunning green and gold ensemble to romp home with the Most Stylish Lady prize.

Emma Hanratty was dressed in a striking bottle-green velvet dress and matching green and gold embellished cape, courtesy of Cloughoge-based boutique, Rosie’s Closet, where she works.

The 23 year old, who was joined at the racing festival by her boyfriend Shane and four year old son, Oliver, revealed that she made the cape from a dress, adding some gold pieces and buttons down the back to create the vintage inspired piece.

A traditional pillbox hat created by another local designer, Millinery by Mairead, complimented Emma’s stunning outfit. The feather covered pillbox with vintage gold brooch provided the finishing touch to the overall look, based on the theme of centenary glamour.

The Fairyhouse win is another great achievement for local fashion and design, confirming the high standard of style and design in South Armagh.

As winner of the Irish Grand National’s most stylish lady competition, Emma was presented with an €8,000 (£6,282) voucher for Carton House.
