Crown Court date for historic sex offences accused
The case against a pensioner accused of a number of historic sex offences against a child is to be heard at Newry Crown Court next month.
The man, aged in his seventies and who cannot be named for legal reasons, is charged with 15 counts of indecent assault on a female, five counts of gross indecency towards a child, making an indecent photo of a child and cruelty to a person under 16.
The offences are alleged to have occurred between January 1st 1986 and January 1st 1997.
Following the hearing at Armagh Magistrates’ Court last week, the accused was released on his own bail of £500 and instructed to appear at Newry Crown Court on April 30 for arraignment.
