Cyclocross Champion’s Crossmaglen Connections

JB Murphy, the Irish Junior Cyclocross champion has very strong Crossmaglen connections. JB who this weekend took part in the World championships in Bieles, Luxembourg where he recovered remarkebly well having fell victim to a major crash at the first corner. Ranked 36th in the world JB remounted and raced through the field before eventually finishing a ¼ of a lap behind the winner.

JB, who completed the charity cycle from Mizen 2 Malin in memory of his late Uncle Eugene Donaghy when he was only 15 years old, is a grandson of the late Dr Jack Crummie and the late Bernard Murphy both of whom were very prominent and esteemed figures not alone in Crossmaglen but throughout south Armagh and further afield.
