Dromintee dancer needs you to view his video!

A talented young dancer is putting his best foot forward in a bid to gain a scholarship with dance company, Fusion Fighters.

Fifteen year-old Daniel Donnelly, from Aghadavoyle, has entered the Fusion Dance Fest 2018 video competition – and he needs the help of Examiner readers, as the aim is to get the most amount of views possible!

The Fusion Dance Fest is hosted by the progressive performance crew, Fusion Fighters, and offers dancers from around the world the chance to learn and perform with the internationally acclaimed teaching faculty. The eight day long dance fest is anchored with traditional Irish dance forms but also introduces a variety of Irish show styles, body percussion, tap dance, contemporary, and hip-hop into the mix. Dancers will get to work alongside the experienced faculty in workshops, seminars, video projects, evening events, all culminating in a student showcase at the Millennium Theatre in Limerick and trip to the Fleadh Cheoil.

Daniel’s entrance video was filmed in picturesque Slieve Gullion, the heart of Irish culture and music, and features the Irish Dancing champ dancing to an accompanying bodhran player.

The dedicated teenager has been dancing since the age of three, and trains with the McEntegart School of Irish Dancing in Newry.

He has travelled the world with his talent, achieving first place trophies in Australia, Belgium and Spain.  The St.Paul’s student is the current European champion and has qualified five times for the prestigious World Championships in Boston, London, Montreal, Dublin and Glasgow.  Daniel’s talent has seen him grace our TV screens, where he has danced live on the Nolan Show and TG4.

His proud mum Bronach told The Examiner,

“I know it would mean the absolute world if he could get enough shares and views on his video, which he really enjoyed making.

“Dancing is his life. We are really proud of his achievements. We need all the readers to view and share the link in order to gain as many views as possible!”
