Joe Kernan out on his own
By guiding Ireland to a 56 to 52 victory over Australia, International Rules Test manager Joe Kernan has created his own unique piece of history. When Ireland won the Cormac McAnallen Cup “Big Joe” became the first manager to win major honours with his club, county, province and country.
Already a GAA legend having led his club Crossmaglen Rangers to three All-Ireland titles, Joe then led Armagh to their first and only Sam Maguire before delivering Inter-provincial glory to Ulster and has now completed the quadruple.
Joe has another year to run as Ireland manager and believes the International Rules series has a bright future and would like the series to be decided over two Tests.
