Kirsty sets the bar in the style stakes

For the second time in recent weeks, Newry teenager, Kirsty Farrell, has scooped a notable style award, taking the top prize in the Gold Fever Best Dressed Lady contest on the opening day of Punchestown Festival on Monday last.

Nineteen-year-old Kirsty caught the eye of the judges in an elegant vintage-look ensemble she designed herself.  Featuring a burgundy satin skirt and cream high-neck bodice, the dress was complimented with an elegant black faux fur stole.  Her eye-catching headpiece was designed by Millinery by Mairead, based in Silverbridge, who also supplied her accessories.

Kirsty, who, along with her mum, owns the renowned Cloughogue-based boutique Rosie’s Closet, was the clear winner for the panel of judges, which included former Miss World Rosanna Davison.

The talented fashionista’s prize included a €1,000 voucher for luxury hair extensions and a goody bag worth €400.

And there was further glory for Rosie’s Closet when Kirsty’s colleague, Emma Hanratty from Crossmaglen, also made the final line-up in the day’s contest.
