Life Goes On…and on and on!
Kaleidoscopes smash hit comedy Life Goes On is returning for another appointment this November by popular demand after it’s sold out run at the Sean Hollywood Arts Centre last June. As well as returning to the Arts Centre the show will also be visiting venues across the Newry area including Crossmaglen Community Centre and Hilltown Hall.
Life Goes On is an hilarious comedy drama set in the all too familiar surroundings of a hospital and follows the ups and downs of life on the wards for patients and staff.
The show is the latest offering from Newry Acting Up whose previous shows include The Last Dance and The Beginners Guide To Growing Older. The cast who are all over the age of 60 helped to create the show themselves working with writer and director Kerry Rooney. Kerry explained, “lots of the ideas came from the group, from their own experiences or stories they had heard from other people. I think that’s what makes it really funny because people can really relate to the characters and to the situations.”
As well as humour there are one or two more serious moments in the play as one of the stars of the show Pat Cunningham (who recently celebrated his 80th birthday!) told us, “we wanted to do something that reflected real life. We wanted to make people laugh but also to show what life is really like in hospital”.
The show premiered back in June at the Sean Hollywood Arts Centre and it sold out immediately with audiences calling for more so the group have decided to bring the show back for another run and also a tour!
If you would like to make an appointment for Life Goes On tickets are available from each of the venues but hurry because this show is going to sell out fast!
