Man arrested following double stabbing in Belleek
A man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a double stabbing incident in Belleek on Saturday night.
Shortly after midnight, police were called to a licensed premises on Main Street in the village following reports that two men had been stabbed. Officers found one of the victims had sustained a stab wound to his neck while the other man was stabbed in the hand. Both were treated for their injuries at the scene before being transferred to hospital. Police said their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The suspect, a 48-year-old man, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including attempted murder, grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon. He was still being questioned about the attack yesterday (Sunday) evening.
