Mount Kilimanjaro climbers host charity fundraisers
This Saturday 11th May, two local men will host the first of their fundraisers in conjunction with their planned climb of Mount Kilimanjaro later this year.
Ciaran McCann and Shane McCreesh, both from Dorsey, will take on the grueling challenge to trek the world’s tallest freestanding mountain on July 3rd, to raise money for the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust (KBRT).
Ahead of then, the pair are organizing two events to boost their fundraising efforts for the charity, the first of which will be held in the Cross Square Hotel, Crossmaglen this Saturday. Entertainment on the night is by Kevin Kearney, supported by Country Harmony and everyone is welcome to attend.
The second event is planned for Sunday 2nd June in Garvey’s Bar, Tullydonnell. Music at this event is by Setanta.
Both men greatly appreciate the efforts of Gerard and Geraldine McMonagle of Cross Square Hotel and Eamonn Keenan of Garvey’s Bar who have been extremely helpful in the organising of both events.
Ciaran and Shane take this opportunity to urge local people and businesses to “dig deep for KBRT”. To make a donation, contact Ciaran (07783548278) or Shane (07907642184) or via Facebook messanger. Donations can also be made through their gofundme page at www.gofundme.com/Dorsey2Kilmanjaro.
Alternatively, should anyone wish to donate a spot prize for either of the fundraisers, please get in touch with Ciaran or Shane. All support is greatly appreciated.
