“Out of control” locks prompt charity head shave

Crossmaglen man, Paul Teggart, will have his hair and beard shaved off in Hanratty’s Pub on Saturday February 1st in a bid to raise money for the Southern Area Hospice, in what is sure to be a great night’s craic.

Having been growing his hair out since April, Teggart’s friends said to him one night, “We’ll have to do something about that hair,” which Paul concedes has, “Sort of grown out of control,” and he thought, “Why not do something for charity?” And so, the idea to host a fundraiser was born.

As Paul holds the Southern Area Hospice close to his heart, he stated that, “The idea is to raise as much as possible for the hospice,” and he aims to make the fundraiser event a huge success. He has been helped in this regard by sponsors Valu Land Crossmaglen, Hanratty’s Bar, who will be hosting the event, and Fiona Mac of Cross Cuts Barber Shop who has agreed to shave his hair off on the night.

In what promises to be an enjoyable night of fun and craic, Teggart says, “There is entertainment planned for the night,” and there will also be a DJ. A raffle is also planned to take place, as a means of raising money for the cause.

If you are interested in helping Paul in his goal to raise as much money for the hospice as possible, fundraising is already underway and there are cards available across the area in Hanratty’s Bar, Cross Square Hotel, Finnegan’s Garden Centre, Valu Land and from Paul himself.
