Party business swells as demand for inflatable pub soars

A local entrepreneur is enjoying global success after her party hire and events business went viral following the introduction of a unique new party addition – the Inflatable Pub.

The pop-up innovation brings the local pub literally to your doorstep (or back garden!) and has become a real party show stopper, bringing a distinctive touch to those special occasions which call for a party at home.  The inflatable pub will hold up to 60 people and comes fully kitted out with flooring, lighting, bar, optics, taps, seating and tables.  It has such excellent attention to detail including brick stone walls, chimney pots and even a welcoming fire place feature that it feels like a real life pub. Customers only need to supply their own alcohol then sit back and enjoy this unforgettable party experience.

The idea has become hugely popular worldwide and local firm “Party Hire and Events”, owned by Dromintee resident, Lisa McMahon Winters, has brought the fun party feature to Irish shores for the very first time.

Speaking to The Examiner about the whirlwind global success of the Inflatable Pub, Lisa, who is originally from Limerick but now living in Dromintee with her husband, a South Armagh native, and their three sons, told us how she set up Party Hire and Events after working in the Corporate World with Telecommunications in Dublin for 15 years.

“I was always thinking of new business ideas,” says Lisa,  “so I started Party Hire and Events.”

“I just wanted to be different and wasn’t interested in hiring the normal bouncy castles or items everyone else had. So I did my research and came up with the Inflatable Pub and Outdoor Movie Screens which are very unique. I also hire other items and have customised products made to my own designs so you can be guaranteed a bespoke party, wedding or any other event with unique products.”

The entrepreneur’s success story has gone worldwide viral in recent weeks which, she says is down to social media, with her story being shared by news based websites,  some reaching up to 3,000 shares, 4,000 comments and over 10,000 likes.

“My website is getting over 2,500 hits a day and Social Media is thriving,” says Lisa, who also revealed that she has carried out Radio interviews with stations in Dublin, Sydney, Dallas and Berlin and is receiving orders on a global scale.

“The Mac Style Pub is the first of its kind in the whole of Ireland and now that word has spread so quickly here about them, orders are booming.

“I not only hire the units but I also sell customised units in all shapes, sizes and designs. This has been a big hit in the States, Russia and United Arab Emirates in particular.

“The Pubs can be personalised with a name over the door, favourite photos on the walls, family crests over the fireplace, or Club, County, or Country flags customised for the outside of the pub.”

Keen to spread the benefits of her global success, Lisa hopes to generate more local jobs as her business grows and also offers a consultancy service for new business start ups, using her wealth of business and corporate experience to advise in all aspects of setting up a new business.
