Retrosonics rock up summer celebrations at the Cross Square Hotel

We are celebrating summer this weekend at the Cross Square Hotel.

The exams are finished, school’s out and our party kicks off this Friday 1st July, rocking the night away with the Retrosonics.

And with our entertainment line up offering something to suit all musical tastes, you can enjoy a good old jive around the floor on Saturday 2nd July with dancing to the sensational Highway Men.

Local band ‘The Retrosonics’ will rock the Cross Square Hotel this Friday and will bring in revellers celebrating the start of summer 2016. The new and improved band has a great repertoire of music from the 80 and 90s up to present day.  Classic numbers from bands such as Madness, The Smiths, Nirvana, Police, Foo Fighters the Doors, Neil Young, INXS and Kings of Leon, to name but a few, are sure to shake up the dance floor and kick start our summer celebrations.

Featuring well seasoned musicians, Francis Fitz, Richie McConville and Beanzy Byrne – formerly of the famed ‘Trim the Velvet’ – and Paddy Kieran on lead guitar, like a fine wine, their music taste and repertoire has come of age and is reflective of Indie, Ska, rock and goth, all the good stuff!

Local man Gerard McKeown has stepped in to the helm as lead singer and brings a ‘sonic’ pop culture vibe to this ‘retro’ band. The Retrosonics will be celebrating summer in the newly refurbished Cross Square Hotel front bar due to kick off at 10pm. This is the start of a ‘Celebrating Summer’ entertainment line up which is scheduled to run until the end of August.
