Siobhan assumes mantle of panto’s musical director

Crossmaglen Panto Group’s upcoming production of Aladdin is gaining momentum with rehearsals now in full swing for the five-night showing later this month.

The show is scheduled to run over the school mid-term break in St. Joseph’s High School, with nightly performances from Monday 16th to Friday 20th February inclusive.

This year the group has pulled out all the stops to put on a spectacular performance, and has been fortunate to have benefited from the professional expertise of actress, writer and director, Máire Caherty, a native of Newtownhamilton.

The attention to detail has not ended there as Siobhan Hussey has now been appointed as Musical Director, a mantle she effortlessly assumes alongside her role as the Genie of the Ring.

Double-jobbing presents no obstacle to the multi-talented eighteen-year-old, an accomplished pianist, singer, songwriter and all-round performer in her own right.

Indeed, the qualities she has brought to the production have been highly praised by producer and veteran thespian, Jemser Cairns.

Tickets for the shows are currently on sale locally, priced at £7.00 and admission by ticket only is preferred.

Aladdin will commence 7.30pm nightly from 16th to 20th February in St. Joseph’s High School, Crossmaglen.
