Upper Creggan and District Committee of the Armagh Diocesan Lourdes Hospitalite

Our first annual Bazaar was held in Silverbridge Clubrooms on Friday night last and the huge attendance enjoyed the fun, as well as continuous raffles for the lovely prizes shown in the photo. People danced to the music provided by Billy Finnegan and we had our usual draw for seats to Lourdes and other prizes. The results of this draw are as follows;

This event could not have taken place without donations from many sources. Our chief sponsors were Watters Electrical, Concession Road and Toymaster, Carrickasticken Road. In addition many valuable items were donated by various firms and individuals. These were given with such lack of fuss as to be almost anonymous.  We have attempted to name them below and apologise if we have missed anyone.

Carrickdale Hotel, Canal Court Hotel, Garvey’s,  Garvey’s Restaurant, B. Reel Motors, Brenda’s Salon, Kevin & Eileen Murphy, Patrick Hearty, Martin McQuillan, Ann Burns, Raymond Watters, Declan Hearty, Hanratty Oils, Casey’s Culloville, Eamon Devlin, Mary McMahon, Vince Campbell, Ricky Mallon, McArdle Meats, Ciaran & Miceal Donnelly, McNamee’s Butchers, Watters Plant Hire, S & S Communications, Mary Kelly, AnnMarie Kane, Marguerita Murtagh, Sinead McVerry, Brendan Begley, McCreesh’s Spar, Mullaghbawn, Edel Crawley,  Culloville Bureau and Silverbridge GFC.

The committee thank them all and especially any that we may not have included above. We also thank all our own members who made this event possible, particularly our M.C. on the night, Martin Campbell and the musician, Billy Finnegan. Finally we thank Silverbridge GFC for the use of their premises and all the people who attended.

Our usual collection with the BLUE envelopes is continuing in the parish at present. Your generosity is appreciated as the fare to Lourdes is considerable and we have so many applications for places as assisted pilgrims. Lourdes is of course a special place as anyone who has gone will tell you. But to be there from 12th. to 17th. May with over 100 of our own parishioners and up to 800 people from our diocese led by our new Archbishop, Eamon Martin is very special indeed and we thank Our Lord and His Blessed Mother for making this possible.
